Lupron

Having a hard time this go 'round with the Lupron shot. I'm feeling really irritable, depressed, headachey, and generally moody. I'm having a hard time sleeping too. Hopefully, this will disappate soon.

I'm only allowed 2 more shots of Lupron before I have to stop.

The good news is that it's working. I have little or no pain from endometriosis and/or the fibroid tumor!

BTW, taking Tryptophan, Melatonin, and an herbal sleep aid that contains valerian, hops, and a bunch of other stuff. It eventually works, but getting there is the battle.

Another reason I don't like Fox News

Jon Stewart caught Fox News tampering with film footage from Michele Bachmann's 11/5 anti-health care reform rally.  Fox cut film footage from an earlier Glen Beck rally into the Michele Bachmann rally in order to support their claims of 20-40 thousand participants.  According to the Washington Post, the attendance was more like 5,000 people.  And MSNBC has police officers who were there guessing the attendance to be no more than 4,000 people.

Here's the full article and the clip of Jon Stewart's episode on this issue.

The full article is worth reading because it details other ways that Fox News has attempted to pull the wool over our eyes.

I've been trying to come up with this particular thing for about a year and a half.  But I keep stumbling on it.  What is it you ask?

It is a short bio for me to include with my work.  Basically, I'm looking for a fun, catchy "about the artist" type thing.  I'm totally stumped.

This is what I've come up with:  Saveena lives in an unmagical cottage with her prince, his changling daughter, and their 3 monsterous dogs.

I tried to keep it upbeat, while throwing in some whimsy.  Saveena is my on-line presence and for all intents and purposes can be considered my magickal name.  It's sort of my alter-ego.  I don't think it sounds all that cute, fun, or memborable.

Anyone want to help me jazz it up?

Please consider somthing like the Birdbesafe collar.  I haven't done any research or testing (I don't have a cat any more), but it looks like it would work and makes sense.  Most of you probably have collars on your cats already so that they can show off rabies vaccination tags and people can return the cat to you in case of an accident.  So this isn't that huge of a jump.

Just a thought.

I had a great massage last night from Anita K... Meyer.  I don't have her card on me so I can't remember how to spell the part of her last name that starts with a K.  She was the only masseuse at CMA this time around.

Deebo and I sort of had it out last night. Surprisingly, I won.

For those of you who don't know, I met this dog April of 2006. He was about 4 years old (I think), unneutered, unsocialized, and left in the backyard all day long alone. Gos was working 14 shifts a week and didn't have the time to devote to a dog this size. Libby was 9 and not allowed to play with Deebo without supervision let alone walk him!

I finally convinced Gos to neuter him after we moved into the house we are in now. I won't say that it made him a lamb, but it did help significantly with his behavior. Adding two dogs for him to play with and introducing him to humans has helped a lot. I work with him daily on sitting, staying, and who's the boss.

The stories about what the Obama White House has to say about Fox News Channel keep coming.

There was White House communications director saying telling Howard Kurtz of The Washington Post and CNN "let's not pretend they're a news network the way CNN is."

Also last week it was NPR's David Folkenflik reporting that "the White House is taking direct aim at Fox News, the news organization that is the home to the most potent collection of its conservative critics."

This week it's ABC News' Jake Tapper asking why the Obama team was treating one of the "sister organizations" so badly -- and the news that the White House had tried to block a Fox News reporter from interviewing the so-called pay czar. (After all the networks objected, the White House relented.)

It seems like time for a survey:

Just for those who are interested... the Janis Ian concert at Doesy Doe in the Woodlands was fantastic!  I laughed and I bawled.  She's a master wordsmith and entertainer.  The 2 hour concert flew by in the blink of an eye.  We splurged by purchasing her "best of" CD and autobiography.  Each chapter of the book is based on one of the songs on the CD.  And we got them both autographed!  All proceeds go to the Pearl foundation, which she created to send women back to school.

"In a complaint filed in federal court in Connecticut, Gina Uberti alleges she was unfairly terminated for practicing Wicca, known as the largest of neopagan religions"

I saw this article on the CMA Village forum and felt compelled to repost a link to it here.  My boss jokes about declaring himself Wiccan and taking Halloween off as a religious holiday.  He's very agnositc and knows I'm pagan, so I don't really worry about him.  But I have worked for some very Christian people and have worried that they would find a way to include me in a layoff because of my beliefs.
